The Drumcraft drum course was written by me as a way of maximizing the time spent with students, particularly at school where time can be limited.
During my time teaching, I had used many drum courses available and a common complaint was the quality of contemporary drum kit courses and the presentation of ‘stand-alone’ snare drum courses. The difficulty had been finding a snare and drum kit course that could be studied together. After fruitless searching, I decided to create my own.

Drumcraft takes the elements of a carefully graded snare drum course and a relevant contemporary drum kit course into one tutor, separated into four books. All the snare drum rudiments and aspects of drum kit technique are introduced with detailed accompanying text – perfect as a teaching aid and for those who prefer to study on their own. There are opportunities for student and teacher to play together in the snare drum duets. Most sections are complemented by snare and drum kit pieces.

The Drumcraft drum course can be used in preparation of drum grades.
